Sedoni Beach — A Wild Pebble Shore for the Adventurous

Sedoni is one of Crete's hidden pebble beaches, reachable only on foot via a scenic coastal hiking trail. With no facilities, no beach bars, and no crowds, it draws those seeking an authentic connection with the island's rugged beauty and the open sea.

What you'll find?

Hiking Access

The trail leading to Sedoni winds through typical Cretan scrubland, offering dramatic coastal scenery along the way. The walk takes roughly 30–45 minutes depending on your starting point, and the effort is well rewarded by the sense of arrival at a place few visitors ever reach.

Panoramic Views

From the shoreline and along the trail, the views across the sea are truly spectacular — open water in all directions, distant headlands, and the raw Cretan landscape. On clear days, the horizon seems to stretch endlessly, making this one of the most dramatic coastal viewpoints accessible on foot.

Unspoiled Pebble Shore

The beach itself is composed of smooth rounded pebbles and small boulders, backed by low scrubby cliffs. The water is exceptionally clear and deep, typical of this exposed part of the coastline — ideal for experienced swimmers who enjoy the freedom of an undeveloped shore.

Pack water and snacks before setting out — Sedoni has no facilities, but rewards every visitor with absolute peace and untouched natural beauty.
